What to look for in an Umapped alternative
Before you choose, think about what your clients used every day and how you worked. These are the questions worth asking of any tool:
- How does the client receive the trip? An app from a store, a website with a username and password, or a link.
- Does it carry your brand? And if it does, on which plan and at what cost.
- Does it work offline? And which parts: itinerary, documents, maps.
- How do bookings get in? By hand, from documents or through integrations.
- What happens when something changes? How the traveler finds out, and whether they see what changed.
- Which languages does the app support? Think about your clients, not just your team.
- How is it priced? Per agency, per user or per passenger, and whether there’s a setup fee.
- Where is the data stored? If you work with European clients, it’s worth asking.
How Viaondo covers it
- A private link, no store. Your client opens the trip from a link and, if they like, adds it to the home screen. There’s a group link with the whole trip and personal links with each traveler’s own documents and seats.
- Your brand on every trip. Logo, color, contact details, WhatsApp button, review link and a footer note. When needed, Viaondo adjusts the shade of your color so text stays readable. More on branding.
- Offline, with a verified copy. After the first opening with a connection, the itinerary, addresses and documents are saved on the phone, and the app verifies the copy before saying it’s ready. The street map needs a connection.
- Bookings from your documents. Booking import reads PDFs, screenshots and confirmation emails and proposes each item with its local time. You review and accept each one.
- Clear changes. Every time you publish, a new version is created; the traveler sees before and after and can get an email notice in their language.
- Six languages. Spanish, English, Portuguese (Brazil), French, Italian and German, in the app and the dashboard.
- A flat price. €49/month + VAT per agency, team included (fair use), with no setup fee. Everything is on pricing.
- Data in the EU. The database and files are stored in the EU.
What Viaondo doesn’t do
Better to know now than later:
- It isn’t a CRM. It has a client directory with trip history and internal notes, but it doesn’t manage sales opportunities or campaigns.
- It doesn’t do proposals or quotes. It starts once the trip is sold.
- It doesn’t take payments. No payments, deposits or payment links.
- It doesn’t support custom domains. Trips carry your brand, but not your domain.
- It has no native store apps. It’s a web app that travelers add to the home screen from Safari or Chrome; it isn’t in the App Store or Google Play.
If you need any of these in the same tool, Viaondo won’t be a complete replacement. You can combine it with whatever you already use to sell and take payments.
How to move your trips to Viaondo
Viaondo doesn’t import Umapped data. The quickest route is to start from the original documents for each booking:
- Create your account with the 14-day free trial, no card needed, and set up your brand.
- Gather the confirmations for the trips departing soonest: supplier PDFs, screenshots or emails.
- Upload them to booking import. Viaondo proposes flights, hotels, trains, transfers and activities with their local times and the excerpt of the document each item comes from. You review, edit and accept. Fair use is 300 documents per agency per month.
- Add what isn’t in the documents: destination guide, places, checklist and emergency numbers.
- Run the Trip Check, which flags missing documents or overlapping times, publish and send the link to your clients.
- For routes you repeat, create your own templates or start from the three starters: Japan 14 days, Italy 10 days and Portugal 8 days.
