Viaondo vs Safari Portal

Safari Portal is an itinerary and operations platform for DMCs, tour operators and travel advisors, with proposals, a content library, a CRM, invoicing and payments, plus a traveler app. Viaondo covers building the trip and delivering it as a web app with your brand, in ten languages. It costs a flat price per agency. If you want one platform to design, sell, invoice and deliver high-end trips, Safari Portal is the better fit. Viaondo is for small agencies that already sell their own way and want a lower-cost way to hand over the trip.

What does Safari Portal do better than Viaondo?

Safari Portal sells, bills and delivers in one place. According to its pricing page, the Essentials plan already includes unlimited itineraries and Lookbooks, a content library and templates, Magic Import, a CRM with pipeline and task management, forms, e-signatures, credit card authorizations, and invoicing, payments and financials. Viaondo covers the trip itself. Sales and billing tools aren’t part of it.

Four more areas where Safari Portal goes further:

  • Proposals and print. You can build narrative proposals or day-by-day itineraries and export them to PDF and Word. Viaondo delivers the trip as an app and doesn’t produce proposal documents.
  • A content library. You keep your own properties, destinations, experiences and activities, and Safari Portal offers curated content ready to use.
  • An app in the stores. Your clients use Travel Portal, available on iOS and Android. On Enterprise, you can have a custom branded app. Viaondo is a web app and isn’t in the App Store or Google Play.
  • More for operators and partners. The Pro plan adds Travel Dashboards, automated flight search with live updates, travel insurance offers, Zapier and API connections. Enterprise adds white labeling for B2B partners and data migration.

How is Safari Portal priced?

Safari Portal sells plans with a set number of users. Essentials costs $299/month with one user, Pro $399/month with three, and Enterprise is custom; each additional user is $50/month, and prices are plus applicable taxes. Annual billing gives one month free, and the trial lasts 14 days with no credit card.

That is the highest entry price in our buyer’s guide. Three people pay $399/month on either Essentials or Pro, while Viaondo is US$50/month for the agency, plus VAT where it applies, or US$500 a year.

When is Viaondo the better choice?

Viaondo is the better choice for a small agency that already quotes and invoices with its own tools:

  • You’re watching costs. Safari Portal starts at $299/month plus taxes for one user. See pricing for Viaondo’s single plan.
  • You already sell with your own tools. If you quote and invoice in email, spreadsheets or your booking system, Viaondo handles the part those tools don’t: the trip on your client’s phone.
  • Your clients speak other languages. The Travel Portal App Store listing shows English. Viaondo’s app and dashboard work in ten languages.
  • You care where your data lives. Viaondo’s database and files are stored in the EU. Safari Portal doesn’t say on the pages we checked.

Who should stay on Safari Portal?

Safari Portal is built around selling an expensive, visual trip. On Essentials, a specialist builds a narrative proposal or a Lookbook from a content library of their own properties, destinations and experiences, adds Safari Portal’s curated content, sends it, collects an e-signature and a credit card authorization, then invoices and takes payment in the same tool. The itinerary can be translated into eight languages and exported to PDF or Word for clients who still want a document.

Stay on it when the proposal itself sells the trip, when one person handles the sale from first quote to final payment, or when partners need your itineraries under their own label. Viaondo starts after the sale. If your proposals already live in another tool and what’s missing is the trip on the traveler’s phone, the $299/month entry price pays for a lot you wouldn’t use.

How does your client open the trip?

According to Travel Portal, when clients tap the itinerary link on their phone they get an option to download the app or open the itinerary in it. With Viaondo, the link opens the traveler app straight in the browser. Send the group link for the whole trip, or a personal link to each traveler with their own documents and seats.

How do you move from Safari Portal to Viaondo?

Viaondo doesn’t connect to Safari Portal, and its Lookbooks and content library don’t come over. Start with your next departures: upload each trip’s PDFs, screenshots or confirmation emails to booking import, check the draft, where each booking shows the document it came from, and publish.

Trips already in progress can finish in Safari Portal. If you keep it for proposals and invoicing, Viaondo only replaces the Travel Portal part. Start with the 14-day free trial; the example app shows what your client will receive.
